Montessori-Inspired Gift Guide for Baby & Toddler
It’s no secret, we love love LOVE Montessori in this house! So much so that I decided to put together this round up of Montessori-Inspired gifts for baby and toddler in case you were looking for some guidance on the topic!
My son has been attending a Montessori school since he was 18 months and we have been huge fans ever since learning more about the philosophy and approach. You can read more about it here if you’re interested as well, in short it is a play-centered and independence/confidence building approach to childcare. Once you learn what it is you’ll see it just makes sense!
That said, I always like to bring toys into our home that are functional, independence-building and beautiful. We don’t have many toys at home but it doesn’t matter, the kids love them and I try to rotate every few months to keep it fresh for them! It’s easier than it seems I promise!
The other thing about Montessori play is to keep the toys out in the open and accessible for the child. They need to be at the child’s level and easy for them to grab so I also included our favorite Montessori shelf — all open access!
Enjoy this Montessori-Inspired Gift Guide!

1 // Montessori Toy Shelf
Open concept shelving for toys so they are all right out on display and reachable for kiddos!
2 // Wardrobe Display
Luca LOVES picking out his clothes and when he turned three he started dressing himself, fostering that independence and sense of self is so important and that’s what this wardrobe display is all about! This one is also adorable!
3 // Convertible Kitchen Helper Tower
Toddlers want to be right there with us doing everything we’re doing so why not get them up to counter height and let them do some “helping” in the kitchen or wherever, instead of having them whine and claw at your feet right? We’ve been using the helper tower since Luca was one, he has out grown it now at three but it’s the perfect size for his little sister now! I love how this one is also multi-purpose with the blackboard and desk configuration all in one!
4 // Busy Board/Walker
Starting from around 8 or 9 months babies and toddlers LOVE busy boards, it’s a must have for us! This one is also adorable and has EVERY gadget you could ever dream of!
This wooden busy board (pictured above) is also adorable and I love this small shop — so many custom options and FAST SHIPPING!!
5 // Lovevery Subscription, Block Set & Play Gym
Hands down my top gift idea for babies and toddlers is a Lovevery subscription! Babies especially do not need much, they don’t *need* toys, but I love the Montessori-style, heirloom quality toys that come in the Lovevery subscriptions, plus they go all the way up to 36 months now!
The activity mat/play gym is gorgeous and functional as well, both of my babies loved playing around on it for months and still love it even now because it turns into a “fort” with the canopy! Truly long-lasting, quality play toys that are also easy on the eyes.
Plus the subscription option makes it SO EASY, they send you exactly what is developmentally appropriate for you baby’s age. No thinking, no researching, exactly the right toys for your child delivered right to your door including a little guidebook with insight! I can’t sing Lovevery’s praises enough!
The play kits, play gym or block set would make a fantastic gift for any young kiddo!

10 // Montessori Rainbow Arch Climber
There are so many awesome climbers out there for kids but this one caught my eye because of the unique shape and colors! Something like this is so good for kids because it helps them learn how to be aware of and trust their bodies!
