Holiday Gift Guide: The Outdoorsman

November 16, 2018 / Gift Guides

Do you have an outdoorsman in your life you need to find gifts for? Check out this men's holiday gift guide with practical and functional ideas for any guy!

Ok girls, it’s an exciting day!! I bring you the ULTIMATE Men’s Holiday Gift Guide for the Outdoorsy Guy! I am SUPER excited for this one because I think the selection of gifts would please many of the men in your life, outdoorsy or not!

Alex actually hand-selected each one of these gifts and with good reason behind each one. He is a man about function and practicality, everything has to have a purpose. The gifts he chose reflect that as well as his adventurous, outdoor spirit.

Without further adieu, hope you guys enjoy the guide!

1.Polarized Sport Sunglasses

Alex considers himself somewhat of a sunglasses aficionado and in his words, “These are the highest quality, most affordable pair of sunglasses I’ve ever owned.” They’re only $40 but can be compared to the more coveted (and expensive) Oakley’s!

2. DJI Spark Drone

We LOVE our DJI drone – it’s portable, compact and only $399. We take it on trips or use it right here at the farm. And, Alex considers DJI the best brand out there when it comes to drones (the means a lot because he is the most thorough researcher I know)!

3. All Black Michael Kors Watch

This watch is super sleek but still manly, I love the all black band and face, plus Alex says he would wear it (but shh don’t tell him it’s Michael Kors!)

4. GoPro Hero7

This is another super compact and portable device we always bring on trips. The GoPro Hero7 is the newest on the market and Alex says it’s cool because it has new stabilization technology that keeps the image steady while filming AND it’s waterproof. Actually, I even think it’s cool because we have to use this big thing called a gimbal to stabilize our GoPro Hero4 (it’s a clunky tool that provides image stabilization). Thinking we might need to upgrade this year!!

5. QALO Silicone Wedding Ring

These silicone rings are the best! Perfect for the guy who isn’t into traditional metal wedding bands, or one who works with his hands. Plus they’re under $20!

6. Spyderco Folding Knife

This has been Alex’s go-to knife since he was in high school. He even got me one a few years back and I have to admit I love it! Spyderco knives are made from “the finest” (Alex’s words lol) Japanese steel and they literally last forever. There are many different sizes and styles to choose from but this one is Alex’s top pick!

7. Stylus Pro LED PenLight

Cheap, small, thin and handy. That is Alex’s description of this flashlight! It fits in your pocket and comes in handy more than you would think! It’s also under $20, it would make a great stocking stuffer!

8. Monogram BBQ Grill Tool Set

If your husband/boyfriend/father is anything like mine he lovesss the grill. I think a monogrammed tool set is a great and special gift for the grill master!

9. Camping Hammock

This camping hammock packs out small, keeps you off the ground, has a mosquito net built in and it only $70. Alex even says it’s “cozy” and I don’t think he has every used that word before! But in all seriousness he loves this thing and has used it on many a camping trip!

10. Firewood Kindling Splitter

This splitter is actually much more convenient than a hatchet (and safer in my opinion). It makes splitting wood for kindling super quick, requiring less force as well. This would be a great gift if your husband is a fire wood guy!

11. Best Made Co. Axe

This axe is not only beautiful, it’s functional too! A win win for both Alex and I! This particular axe is a felling axe which means it’s for cutting down small trees. Alex doesn’t use his felling axe too often but when he does he’s glad he has one of such high quality. I would browse around the whole Best Made Co. website as well, they have really special, one of a kind gift ideas!

Honorable Mentions

Quip Toothbrush

I recently got this toothbrush and am thoroughly impressed. While in use it vibrates for two minutes, pulsing every 30 seconds as a sign to switch sides. I also love that once you purchase the brush they have you sign up for the subscription – even three months they send you a new brush head. The less thinking the better when it comes to everyday stuff like this am I right? But it really would be a great gift!

Mizzen & Main Flannel

I LOVE these shirts for Alex! They have flannels, dress shirts, polos and a ton more. The quality and fit are perfect and they wash really well. I buy two more each year for Alex, he has a few from four years back that still look brand new!
