Cozy Winter Home Decor
CLICK HERE for my updated 2021 Winter & Holiday home decor round up post!
If you caught my Instagram stories a couple days ago you got a sneak peak at my cozy winter home decor! My favorite part about decorating for the winter and the holidays is bringing in ALL the coziness. And the best part is that it’s not necessarily all Christmas decor so it can stick around for the duration of the winter! Before I dive in, if you want to see my holiday decor links check out THIS PAGE where I linked up all my favorite items!
Here are some ways I do Cozy Winter Home Decor in my home:
- Mix Textured Pillows
- Knit/Plush/Faux Fur Blankets
- Incorporate Twinkle Lights
- Add Scented Candles
- Cozy up the spaces you’re in most
- Use Fresh Greens
- Tree placement near the Fireplace
I feel like these are easy and attainable ways to bring cozy into your home! Below I have photos of different ways I’ve styled items in my own home to make it cozier and more inviting for the winter.
Mix Textures for a Cozy Home Look
Chunky knits, super soft chenille and rustic linen all make for cozy winter home decor that holds your interest. Incorporating these different pillows and stockings was a fun touch that I never tire of looking at. And mixing around the fireplace means you also get the textures from the stone and flocked garland which both go so nicely in my opinion!
Plush blankets all rolled up in a basket make for beautiful and functional decor!
I love the look of mixing textured pillows! In the above photo, I mixed crushed velvet and linen. I also love this pillow from Target for being wintery, but not necessarily holiday so I will be able to use it through the entire season!

Set the Vibe with Lighting
Nothing set s a mood better than lighting. For cozy winter vibes, I choose candles (whether they’re battery-operated or real) and twinkle lights. I especially love the way they look draped around lanterns!

Cozy in the Kitchen
Another thing I like to do is decorate the spaces I spend the most time in, and let’s be real, for me it’s the kitchen and living room! (Sometimes the bedroom too but I haven’t decorated that yet!). Here are some photos of my kitchen styled with a simple faux princess pine wreath, holiday mugs, a cozy candle, twinkle lights and a tiny $3 tree from Target!

Incorporate Fresh Greens
Lastly, I love love LOVE incorporating fresh greens into my home! Not only do they smell amazing but they just bring LIFE into the home which, at least for me, makes me so happy!

Tree Placement by the Fireplace
Placing your Christmas tree near the fireplace always cozy’s up the home! Of course, your layout would have to work and you would have to be mindful if you are actually using the fireplace. But personally, there is nothing I love more than curling up on our couch with a blanket, fire going and Christmas tree lights twinkling in the background. Throw in a Hallmark movie on TV! and your GOLDEN!
