How to Keep Yourself Busy + Productive During Quarantine
Or should I have called this post, “How not to completely lose your mind during Quarantine”? But really, life as we know it has changed. It’s a very weird, uncertain time and I’ll be the first to admit I’m extra anxious. Thankfully, I’ve been focusing on improving my mental health (wrote a blog post on it here) and I’m staying strong. While things are different, I’ve been trying to stay busy and productive over here! I’m sharing what has helped the most below and I would love to hear from all of you. And, of course, I hope you are all staying safe and healthy!
6 Ways to Stay Busy During Quarantine
Workout
My workout of choice has been yoga lately. It’s been incredibly calming and grounding for me and has been a game changer in my mentality lately! So many influencers, coaches, and instructors are sharing at-home workouts which makes it so easy to get a quick workout in your living room or bedroom. I shared this easy routine on my IG a few weeks ago!
Go Outside
As you all know, I love gardening. I shared on Instagram about how planning this year’s garden has given me something to focus on. Luca and I have also been getting in a walk everyday and trying to take toys and have fun outside! Sun makes a huge difference and I’m grateful for it these days.
Meditate
It’s so important to keep your mindset in check during this time. Anxiety is at an all-time high for some of us and focusing your mind on the good as well as calming yourself will help. It’s not easy, but getting into the practice of meditating and even journaling your thoughts down. I’ve been focusing on mental health since last year and wrote a whole blog post on it in January!
Work on a Project
For me, it’s been gardening. Like I said, I love being able to focus my time, energy, and mindset on a project. It also allows me to share more content, as you all love seeing my garden posts! Whether it’s a book you’ve always been wanting to write, catching up on content for your Instagram, working on organizing your basement – whatever it is, it’s helpful to have something other than right now to focus on and gets you excited for the future.
Get Creative
We’re all stuck at home and it can get monotonous. Mix up your days and have fun! Luca and I have been having dance parties, playing with toys outside, cooking and baking (my favorite cookie recipe right here), having virtual play dates and wine dates (for mom), family movie nights, and more. Give me all your ideas for having fun during this quarantine!
Keep a Schedule
A schedule doesn’t have to be perfect or “on-time” every day, and remember to be kind to yourself when that happens. But, adding in some independent play, time for new activities, breakfast/lunch/dinner times, self-care, and more – will help normalize your weeks and keep things flowing.
